Where the listings come from
Every provider on Tendwell comes from the NPI Registry, the public database run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Nearly every healthcare provider who bills insurance in the U.S. must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI), so the registry is the most complete public list of licensed therapists, counselors, psychologists, and psychiatric prescribers in the country.
Searches run live against the registry, so results reflect the latest records, including practice addresses, phone numbers, specialties, and the state license numbers providers report.
What the registry doesn't include
Fees, insurance plans, openings, and therapy approaches aren't part of the NPI record. Ask about those when you call. Our guide to choosing a therapist has a list of questions.
Providers update their own records, so some details may be out of date. Always confirm a license with your state licensing board.
What we don't do
- We don't provide therapy or medical advice, and we can't respond to emergencies. If you need help right now, see crisis resources.
- We don't rank providers by payment. Results are sorted alphabetically by last name.
- We don't track what you search for. Your saved list stays in your browser.
