How listings work
Tendwell searches the CMS NPI Registry live. Your listing shows your name, credentials, specialties (taxonomy codes), practice locations and phone numbers, and the state licenses on your NPI record.
Update your listing
To change what appears here, update your record in NPPES, the CMS system that manages NPIs. Changes usually show up in the registry within a few days, and on Tendwell within 12 hours of that.
- Sign in to NPPES with your Identity & Access account.
- Check your practice location address and phone number. This is what clients will see and call.
- Make sure your taxonomy is right, for example "Counselor, Mental Health" or "Social Worker, Clinical", and that your license number and state are listed.
- Save your changes.
Not showing up?
- Only active NPIs are shown. Deactivated records are left out.
- Search covers these taxonomies: mental health and professional counselors, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and addiction counselors.
- If you practice as a group, your organization NPI appears under "Practices and clinics".
Find your profile
Your profile address is /therapist/ followed by your 10-digit NPI. You can also search by your name.
